The Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk music (love duets) troupe has collected and catalogued over 400 songs and more than 200 Quan Ho songs which are unique and intrinsic to this Northern locality.

Most of the folk music songs are about love and relationships, love for the homeland and close friendship, and collecting and cataloguing these songs helps keep the traditional folk music of the area vital, as well as making it a valuable and common culture property of the nation as a whole.
Based on their achievements, the Bac Ninh Quan ho Folk Music Troupe has staged two musical performance programmes which have showcased the unique and specific characteristics of Quan Ho folk music.
Experts and researchers have also helped to research, compile and make public many scientific works in order to make people aware of the need to appreciate and preserve the traditional of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk music.
Several books about Quan Ho folk music which have recently been published, and have provided valuable information for UNESCO (the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to appraise and consider recognizing Quan Ho folk music as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
